Chapter 9

Chapter 9 is a single scene from the movie that Steven is imagining. The prosecutor brings forth a reliable witness that was a the dug store before the crime was committed. Lorelle Henry is a librarian that was at the scene where the robbery and murder were going to happen. She tells a brand new story that has yet to be brought up in the courtroom. She remembers a fight that broke out in the drug store between one of the convicted murderers and another man. The attorney of this murderer has nothing to say and keeps quiet during her cross examination.
After Ms. Henry left the witness chair, one other convicted person from the crime was brought in wearing a prison jumpsuit. Imediatly Bobo, the inmate, started yelling and cursing at the judge. After Bobo had been calmed down, he quietly stated that Steven had been the lookout for the drugstore robbery.
O'Brien, "One last question. Were you in any way involved with the crime that we are discussing here? To make it clear-were you, in any way, involved with the holdup and murder that occurred on the 22nd of December?"
Steven, "No, I was not."
This question was constantly being asked to Steven and every single time he had the same awenser. With the bottom of his heart he knew that he had nothing to do with this violent act.
